Public Communications Training Recommended in All Walks of Life by Public Speaker

Public speaking talent rarely occurs naturally - many of the most successful communicators have undergone months of training. The need for better communication skills has been recognised in Ghana by the Church of Pentecost

June 25, 2009 - PRLog -- A popular public speaking training author has applauded the Ghana Pentecostal church's decision to send 50 pastors to public speaking training. Martin Ng, author of popular training book 'Surviving Speaking Disasters', said that "Public speaking training is one of the most neglected skills in any profession, and this type of training should be offered throughout the business world".

"Poor public speaking skills are a detriment to people in management, customer service, journalism, and a wide range of industries", said Mr Ng.

"I believe this training should be made a part of school curriculum or offered as free business training to eligible people", he continued.

The training for pastors is only the beginning in Ghana. The Ghana Broadcasting Corporation organized a two-day training course for the 50 pastors, however a leadership program has been created to help leaders from all over the country advance.

The course curriculum includes:
• Speech training
• Interviewing
• Protocol manners
• Discussion
• Public speaking
• Broadcast Engineering

Martin Ng is also committed to helping leaders, managers and base level staff get past the nerves of public speaking, surviving the disasters that sometimes happen in public speaking without turning away from the practice.

"It's a necessary skill for so many people, but so few do it well. I'm happy to see that Ghana is leading the world, and I look forward to helping many more people myself", said Mr Ng.
