Author Julius Falconer asks some thought-provoking questions in The Will of Joan Goode 1793. The novelist also resides in Yorkshire, where his family has lived since 1450. Falconer is a retired teacher. When he came across an old will while researching his own family, he wondered what would happen if someone later insisted that its conditions had not been met. Falconer was born in Coventry, but now resides near York.
