Mrs. District of Columbia America 2009 – Mrs. Deanna McCray James
[Washington, DC] On Sunday evening, one accomplished and beautiful woman emerged as the new Mrs. District of Columbia. Mrs. Deanna McCray James of Burtonsville, Maryland won the coveted title of Mrs. District of Columbia America 2009. The pageant was held on Sunday, June 21, 2009 at the Westin Hotel in Alexandria, Virginia.

“The political environment in Washington, DC continuously brings wonderful examples of loving, giving, and educated wives and mothers to the forefront of our community.” says Kelly Ann Clay, the Co-Director of the Mrs. District of Columbia America Pageant. “The Mrs. District of Columbia America Pageant is proud to add Mrs. Deanna McCray James to the long list of phenomenal women who represent the Nation’s Capital. I am sure she will make us proud at the national Mrs. America Pageant in September in Tucson, Arizona.”
Married women 18 years of age and older who live or work in the District of Columbia are eligible to enter the Mrs. District of Columbia America pageant. Women compete in personal interview, evening gown, and swimsuit, and on-stage interview categories. There is no talent portion to this contest. The prize package includes an all-expense paid trip to compete at the national Mrs. America pageant, emcee and appearance opportunities, a photo shoot, jewelry, and much more!!
“No previous pageant experience is necessary, all you need is confidence and a great smile and we will help you do the rest!” says Kyle Ean Haggerty, Co-Director of the Mrs. District of Columbia America Pageant.
