Annoncements were made this week that Dysport, the first botulinum-based alternative to Botox, will now be used on patients across the country. Dr. Adam N. Summers, a board-certified plastic surgeon in Glen Burnie, Maryland, is one of the first doctors to use it in the greater Baltimore area, at The Maryland Plastic Surgery Center and Medical Spa.
Dysport reportedly works quicker than Botox, and will be competitively priced.
Although Dysport has been used in Europe, Asia, and South America for over 10 years, it is new to patients in the US whose only previous option was Botox, which has an 83% market share worldwide. Dysport has been shown to be a safe and viable alternative.
