A new botulinum-based alternative to Botox, called Dysport, available to patients nationwide. Dr. Thomas McNemar, a board-certified plastic surgeon in Sacramento, California, is one of the first doctors to offer it in the area.
Early reports of the product say Dysport should have a comprable cost to Botox, but that it does have a slightly quicker onset.
Dysport is seen as a safe and viable alternative to cosmetic Botox, which has an 83% market share worldwide. Although new to United States residents, Dysport has been used in Europe, Asia, and South America for over ten years.
