June 23, 2009 - PRLog -- SuperGIS Server, the first enterprise GIS software of SuperGeo Technologies, is going to be officially launched by the end of June. SuperGIS Server provides ‘Map Cache’ service to accelerate the rendering speed and shorten the mapping time, so high-performance dynamic layers can be produced easily.

Each map service offered by SuperGIS Server contains several group layers. In order to enhance efficiency, SuperGIS Server employs these group layers to operate map cache function. When reading the map services provided by the server side, client-side users can operate different settings, such as displaying layers solely or hiding layers, to display each group layer in each map service. This allows users to make use of the layers under numerous situations.

Due to dissimilar areas, goals, and characteristics of layers (such as the resolution of map layers), the suitable scale for each map is different. SuperGIS Server enables administrators to set the most appropriate scale for each map service according to the characteristics of map services and administrators’ publishing requirements. Users on the client side therefore have the best display effects on the map service and can display the most of the information.

Moreover, SuperGIS Server provides administrators with different cache selections, dynamic generating cache or pre-generating cache, in order to fulfill more users’ needs. Dynamically generating cache is to build up cache for the area that is browsed already, so the occupied space in the hard disk can be largely decreased. On the other hand, pre-generating cache is to build up cache for the entire area of the map service; therefore, even in multiuser status, the mapping speed of the map service remains in good performance.

When the layers are being transferred back to client-side users, map cache service in SuperGIS Server can automatically choose the best file format and compression type in compliance with different characteristics of vector layers and image layers. Consequently, the data transferring volume can be reduced effectively and the map display effect can be improved greatly.

SuperGIS Server will be issued soon by SuperGeo. For more information about this software, please visit http://www.supergeotek.com/Library_1_200906.aspx
