The Autonomous Region of Mindanao is a region of the Philippines that has historically and fiercely resisted colonialization and still maintains the dream of self rule. This is where the band derived its name and motivation to write lyrics that support individual choice and personal freedom.

The core driving force for this band is Caroline Cabading. The lyrics they throw at you pack a punch and Cabading is the perfect choice for delivering what they have to say.  The music of The Autonomous Region ranges from tough and loud metal to soft and alluring pop with a strong jazz undercurrent rippling beneath.
