Classical Italian songs, popular film melodies, fiery Russian folk music, world renown hits are in the repertoirs of the Romanian accordionists who sprawled up again this summer in Stockholm. One hears inspiring tunes, as one comes into a square or going out of the
metro. Few coins are thrown into their modest boxes by the by-passers. Some music interested stand and listen to them for hours.
These anonymous musicians may have come from a conservatorium or may be merely
self taught musicians. Sometimes, one sees them also in the suburban trains or metro wagons.
With Romania having entered the EU , Romanian citizens are now free to travel to Sweden without a visa and Romanian musicians are especially taking this advantage to add to the
charm of the summer in Stockholm, with their music.
