OAKLAND, Calif.,  --  Kinderville, designer and manufacturer of infant and toddler feeding systems, today announced that it would begin shipping a new line of toxin-free jars, bowls and cups.  The launch of Kinderville's feeding systems comes in response to the growing concern among parents with young children about chemicals leaching from plastic cups, bowls and storage jars into food.

“As parents, we do our best to provide healthy, organic food to our children.  But served and heated in ubiquitous plastic, we are unwittingly introducing potentially dangerous levels of toxins like Bisphenol-A (BPA), Phthalates and lead into our infant’s and toddler’s food,” says Kinderville founder, Oliver Albers. “Tired of worrying about which plastics are safe and which will be banned next, we sought to provide a way to safely serve and store nutritional food.  With the launch of Kinderville’s new feeding systems, we are providing a safe alternative for parents.”

Recent scientific evidence suggests that chemicals like Phthalates and Bisphenol-A (BPA), designed to soften plastics, could pose real harm to young children.  According to The National Toxicology Program, which is part of the National Institutes of Health, based on animal studies, there is "evidence that Bisphenol-A has adverse effects on development" and that "there is some concern for neural and behavioral effects in fetuses, infants, and children at current human exposures." As a result, many countries, states and cities have begun to ban these bioactive chemicals.

Kinderville products are made from silicone, an inert, rubber-like material. Silicone is ideal for food storage and serving because it is hygienic, hypoallergenic, resistant to bacteria, and toxin-free.  And, because silicone can withstand extreme hot and cold temperatures, it is microwave, freezer and dishwasher-safe.  Kinderville’s silicone feeding systems are easy to clean and portable which is perfect for our on-the-go lifestyles.

"At Kinderville, we understand that a parent’s primary concern is the well-being of their child," continues Albers. "Whether used at home, at preschool/daycare or on-the-go, it is our hope that with these silicone feeding systems, parents will have confidence that the food they put into Kinderville bowls, jars and cups will be safe to consume.”

Kinderville’s bowls, cups and patent-pending storage jars are now available.  For more information, visit www.kinder-ville.com
