With a unique take on electronic music, Koknoz has arrived at a dub-influenced bass-driven sound but with unexpected emotion. Tweaking his sound since arriving in Luxembourg, this thought-provoking artist is perpetual in movement.
This wonderful release sees him move towards a dubstep / dub style sound whilst retaining his trademark 'massive' drums and experimental nature. Additionally, touches of femininity can be found on this release in order to balance the masculine bass(es) and drums.
Unique to the music scene in Luxembourg, Koknoz is always pushing boundaries, usually in the direction they don't want to be pushed. This release sees ghostly vocals melting into space. Below this pulsating bass rythmically fires up the track and above, crashing scattered drums tend to leave you both wanting to dance and lie down.
The opener 'A Love Song' and 'Skrewed' are available on the Renegade Screw website to stream. This is his first release for the newly launched site, and is certainly his most accessible to date. Somewhat akin to riding a bike on stilts, but up to waist height in water.
Additionally, some other tracks from the release are available on the artist's last.fm page.
Available as both a direct download or as a high-speed torrent, there is no reason not to download this gem for free.
