Regina, SK – Canadian country music artist Amy Nelson will be a featured performer at this year’s “Canada Day in London” event, held in the heart of London, England at Trafalgar Square.
Amy Nelson is a fast rising star on the Canadian music scene. Representing Canada is yet another high point for Amy. Already in 2009, Amy has performed in Mexico and was nominated for “Female Vocalist of the Year” at the Saskatchewan Country Music (SCMA) awards. She recorded and released her first CD and currently is one of three finalists in the Big Dog 92.7 (CHBD) “Next Big Thing” contest produced by SaskMusic. Amy will be performing at those finals on Sunday, June 28, at the Pump Roadhouse. Immediately afterwards she will be boarding a flight with guitarist Aaron Pritchard to perform at the Canada Day celebrations in London.
Amy is supported by various organizations, including SaskMusic which assisted financially with her CD. Brian and Gail Saunders of BGS Investments Ltd., Mera Group in Regina, as well as Saunders Evans Plosker Wotherspoon Architects Inc. have all recently came on board to assist with costs related to this event. The CBC will be doing a live interview with Amy while she is in London on July 2, following her big performance.
