Huntington Beach, CA—The Association of Educational Publishers (AEP) recently deemed Teacher Created Materials (TCM) and Shell Education (SEP) as winners of highly sought-after awards at the annual AEP event held on June 12, 2009.
Teacher Created Materials is especially proud to be awarded AEP’s most coveted award for the best new product of 2008, the 2009 Golden Lamp Award in Curriculum, for Mathematics Readers, a resource that features high-interest, leveled nonfiction texts featuring key mathematical concepts, problem solving, computer-based games, and real-world connections to help in meaningful math exploration. In addition, TCM’s podcast entry, Building Vocabulary, was honored as winner of the 2009 Beacon Award in the Webinar/Podcast category. The podcast features authors Nancy Padak, Rick Newton, and Evangeline Newton talking about the use of Greek and Latin word roots to successfully build students’ vocabulary.
Recognized as a winner of the 2009 Distinguished Achievement Award, Shell Education accepted the honor for Leveled Texts for Science: Earth & Space, Physical, and Life Science Series for Grades 6–8. The series contains texts featuring science content written at four reading levels with corresponding comprehension questions and supporting student activities.
