Do your kids say the funniest things? Kinder has launched a search throughout the UK and Ireland to find kids with personality to be the new ‘face’ and personality of their Kinder Chocolate Mini Treats. To celebrate the launch, Kinder has commissioned a poll with Mumsnet to find the children of Britain’s favourite joke.
With the help of celebrity judge Gaby Roslin and for the very first time, Kinder will change the current child’s face that has appeared on packs of Kinder Chocolate Mini Treats across UK & Ireland and make six new children famous. Kinder is appealing to parents to capture and share the amusing things their kids say by entering the online competition at www.faceofkinder.co.uk.
To mark the launch of the campaign, parents from across the country submitted their child’s all time favourite jokes. After lots of laughter and fits of giggles, Kinder can unveil the most popular kids joke is:
What do you call a three legged donkey?
A wonky!
What do you call a three legged, one eyed donkey?
A winky wonky
Kinder invited parents to enter their kids jokes in three different categories, knock knock, animal and parent or teacher jokes. The winning gag shows that children still enjoy jokes that many of us will remember from our childhoods, proving certain classic can stand the test of time.
Knock knock
Who’s there?
Cowsgo
Cowsgo who?
No silly, cows go Moo!
One day, the inflatable boy took a pin to his inflatable school.
The inflatable teacher let out a gasp and sent him to the headmistress’
The inflatable headmistress said, “I’m very disappointed in you, son.
You’ve let yourself down, you’ve let me down and, worst of all, you’ve let the whole school down! “
The aim of the new competition is to find six funny kids between the ages of 4 to 11 to appear on the front of Kinder packs. 30 children will be short-listed by a panel, including celebrity mum Gaby Roslin. It’s then up to the public to decide on the six winning Kinder kids in an online vote from October 2009. Gaby says, “Being a mum myself, I know how funny kids can be. I am thrilled to be on the judging panel to find the new face of Kinder Chocolate Mini Treats. It’s such a fantastic opportunity and I have no doubt it’s going to be a tough job picking the shortlist.”
The final six children in the ‘Face of Kinder’ competition will be announced in November and will see their faces appear on packs across the UK and Ireland from January 2010. The finalists will also win a fantastic family holiday.
Vanessa Kennedy from Kinder said, “Kids are inherently funny and this is an exciting way for parents to share their humour and personalities. We’re looking for six stars from UK & Ireland to replace our traditional boy for the first time ever. It’s a wonderful way for us to celebrate the magic of childhood. We’re keen to discover our six lucky winners so we can make them famous on limited edition packs”.
It’s easy for parents or guardians to enter online at www.faceofkinder.co.uk by submitting a picture and a funny quote from their child. The public will choose which 100 children will become semi finalists by voting online at www.faceofkinder.co.uk
Example of funny kids quotes gathered for Kinder to launch the competition include: “I asked for a puppy but I got a baby brother instead” Daniel, aged 7, Wolverhampton. “When I grow up, I’m going to be an old man” Paul, aged 9, Tunbridge Wells.
Designed especially for children, Kinder Chocolate is a fine milk chocolate with a delicious milky filling that comes in small child-sized portions.
