Wakeboard Zone has just released a new section of their website that has all of the basics on Wakeboard Gear. This is part of a new community website that is all about Wakeboarding Gear. Members and non-members can visit this Wakeboard Gear page on the Wakeboard Zone website for free at: http://www.wakeboardzone.org.
Here is an excerpt from the new Wakeboard Gear information webpage:
“Proper wakeboard gears like the wakeboard rope, wakeboard boat, and the wakeboard itself is vitally important in your wakeboarding experience. You must be aware of the fact what your wakeboard gears are of different types and should be bought based on the individual's needs. You can also get assistance by observing the way in which the pro riders use the gears or you may directly ask the riders to provide you with some tips.
The wakeboard boat and the boat used for waterskiing are different as in wakeboarding the riders want maximum wakes whereas in case of skiing, the skiers want minimum wakes. Therefore, if you have to use a skiing boat for wakeboarding then you need to modify it to a certain extent. You can also use sacks on the two sides of the engines to add weight as it will help to provide you extra float, thus making your wakeboarding experience better.
Wakeboard rope is also an important part of the wakeboard gear. You should look for ropes that allow minimal stretch and has little weight. The ropes can be around sixty feet in length. However, ski ropes can also be used but they are fifteen feet shorter than wakeboard ropes. As a wakeboard boot, you can use surf straps but with the advent of better alternate in the market, these are becoming obsolete."
