June 22, 2009 - PRLog -- When it comes to panic attacks, many often struggle to hide what they are actually going through. Here you will learn the different symptoms and find out some effective tips to deal with the problem.

Signs and Symptoms of Panic Attacks:

Dizziness is very common due to the overwhelming feelings of fear and terror that occur rapidly. Many people feel a tingling sensation on the face and in the extremities. Chest pains do occur and they can make a person feel like they are suffering from a heart attack. The increased level of anxiety causes breathing difficulties during panic attacks. During the process, trembling, shaking or even sweating may occur due to the changes that occur rapidly in the body.

Individuals often feel that they have lost control over their body and mind when they suffer from a panic attack. This is the one symptom that seems to further fuel the fear and stress involved.  The severity of symptoms of panic attacks can range from very mild to extreme. This is why some people fear that they are suffering from a stroke or a heart attack when the onset occurs. Chest pains and numbness in the extremities are symptoms that should be carefully monitored in this scenario.

The longer a person suffers from panic attack, the more severe in nature the symptoms are likely to become. Many individuals refuse to seek help until the symptoms have gotten from bad to worst. Others do their best in hiding it and even choose to withdraw from their family and friends. Such symptoms of panic attacks may seem like depression but there is more than just that.

Tips To Deal With Panic Attacks:

One of the best tips when dealing with panic attacks is to focus on the stress level in your life. Not all stress can be reduced, but plenty of it can be. When an individual suffers from panic attack, the person’s stress level tends to increase. This becomes a continuous cycle where the attacks are more frequent and the stress continues to build. Facing your fears and striving to take control of your panic attacks will help to reduce that level of stress.

Changing your lifestyle can be an ideal remedy as well. This method is effective; however, it is also the most difficult one to follow. Pay close attention to what exactly is triggering those attacks on you. If you can relate them back to certain people or certain events, then discontinue participating in them if they are harmful to you. This doesn't mean you should avoid the situation as a whole; instead you should adjust your lifestyle so that you can prevent many of these attacks from affecting you.

Everyone knows that exercising daily is part of being healthy, but not everyone does it. Make time in your day to engage in an activity that you like for at least 30 minutes. Pay close attention to the foods you consume as your body needs certain vitamins and nutrients for energy. Make sure caffeine is consumed in moderation too as overconsumption can trigger panic attacks.

If you have intention in seeking the professionals, remember to document your panic attack experience.. The doctors and mental health professionals need to know as much as they can in order to further assit you. Take note of where you were, how you felt, the symptoms you’ve experienced and the duration of the attack. These records are helpful when identifying patterns that trigger your panic attacks.

We truly understand that no one likes the feeling of being out of control when it comes to their mind and body. It is best to understand all about panic attacks and discuss the various symptoms of panic attacks with your doctor so that you can develop a treatment plan to control your situation.
