MaMyDa.com (short for ‘Make My Day’) is an activity networking website that enables users to meet and socialise with like-minded people in their area. The focus is on creating or finding personally listed activities, such as trying to find buddies for exercise, movies, the theatre, book clubs, foreign language groups, chit chat club or social drinks – anything at all. Activities range from beach volleyball, walking, dancing, cycling to live music, community events, karaoke and many more. People are forming communities all around Australia and organize countless activities every day on MaMyDa.
Brainchild of Australian resident and German ex-pat Dagmar Geiger, herself a keen activity organiser and outdoor enthusiast, MaMyDa is designed for people who are wanting to live life in the real world, not in front of a computer sending digital ‘pokes’ to others.
“I’m a movie enthusiast, rockclimber and rollerblader,”
It’s still early days for MaMyDa – the site has been up and running for just a few months – so Dagmar and Head Honcho Rod Sullivan are putting the call out to all those activity buddies to get involved.
“While the geographic potential for MaMyDa is huge, we’re currently focusing on Australia,” said Rod Sullivan. “We want to offer depth of content locally, so we’re inviting all Australian recreation clubs and out-going individuals to sign up, create a profile and post activities, join activities and find activity buddies.”
Anyone can use MaMyDa – it’s designed to appeal to all ages and demographics. Of course, there is also scope for privacy – MaMyDa members can create activities that they only wish friends to attend. Those events will not be visible to the public but only to the people the invitations were sent to.
“It’s free to join and create a profile – so there’s nothing to lose,” said Dagmar. “It’s the perfect web site for people who want to get away from the computer and increase their social life. MaMyDa is an easy way to plan your social life with your friends and new activity buddies.”
