FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Jun 21, 2009 -
Despite continuing political tensions between the United States and the Democratic  People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), ASIA PACIFIC TRAVEL still has confirmation from Pyongyang that Americans will be able to travel on tours to North Korea again from Mid August to October 2009.

Thus, just as last year, APTL will be able to make North Korea travel arrangements for Americans and others during the fall Arirang "season".

Asia Pacific Travel, Ltd. is the only “officially recognized” American tour operator to North Korea with a Letter of Commission from the DPRK: www.northkorea1on1.com/EImages/downloads/korn-Ltr%20of%20Commission.pdf . Therefore, explains APTL President, Walter L. Keats, “We are the only official American tour operator bringing American and other tourists to North Korea during the Arirang performance period: August 1 through September 30. The Arirang performances are spectacular and unique in the world, featuring over 100,000 acrobats, gymnasts, and synchronized athletic entertainers.”

(Note: Asia Pacific Travel is also able to arrange for citizens of other countries to continue to visit throughout the year as individuals or in small groups.)

Asia Pacific Travel's tours to North Korea are based on over 14 years experience working with the DPRK.  All tours will be led by Walter L. Keats CTC, CMP.  Mr. Keats is a North Korea expert and an experienced tour leader who has visited North Korea 16 times since 1995.

For 2009, APTL has created 17 tours with 4 different itineraries, all including 5 days-4 nights in the DPRK, the maximum time currently allowed by North Korea during the Arirang period.  Prices, excluding overseas airfare, range from $2,862 double for eight days to $4,499 for 15 days.  Prices in September are slightly higher than in August.  All tours include $150 tickets for the Arirang show.  A special deluxe 15-day tour is also scheduled for September 23 to October 7.  Contact the office for details and prices.

The "Highlights of North Korea" tours are 8-day itineraries going to North Korea via Beijing and are geared for those with less time and/or money and who are only interested in seeing North Korea.

The "Highlights of Korea" tours are 11-day itineraries going to North Korea via Seoul and Beijing and are geared for those with a greater interest in Korea who want to see the highlights of both North Korea and South Korea.

The "North Korea in Focus" tours are 12-day itineraries visiting North Korea via Beijing with added stops in Shenyang and Dandong. This tour is geared for those with a greater interest in Korea and China.

The "Korea in Depth" tours are 15-day itineraries going to North Korea via Seoul and Beijing with added stops in Shenyang and Dandong. This tour is for those wishing a more in-depth understanding of Korea and the Korean peninsula and is highly recommended for all who can spare the additional time.

All of APTL’s North Korea tours are listed chronologically on their website at www.northkorea1on1.com/Itinerary.cfm, by their suggested departure date from North America, but participants are welcome to join any of the North Korea tours in either Beijing or Seoul and do not have to depart from any specific city(ies).

If you are interested in a tour for late summer 2009 but can't decide yet, please visit APTL’s website at www.NorthKorea1on1.com and click on the "Contact Us" button.  Fill in the requested information, and you will be placed on APTL’s North Korea tour email list for updates on 2009's tours and any other significant developments.
