PRLog (Press Release) - Jun 21, 2009 -
I am living proof that no one can predict or determine their future.  When a devastating illness strikes your family, in some cases, no matter what steps you take or how you plan, you will have no control over the outcome.  One day, out of the blue, my father was diagnosed with cancer and then, just a few months later, my husand was diagnosed with cancer as well.  Watching both a father and husband battle a fatal disease together was more than a family should ever have to endure.  Despite all the doctor consultations and treatment plans, nothing would suppress this insidious disease.  Although they both fought bravely and effortlessly for only a short time, they both lost their lives to cancer.  My family and I endured a double loss, losing two family members at the same time, only a few days apart.  Our lives were changed forever and unfortunately, we learned the hard way that life is a precious gift which can be taken way at any time and should never be taken for granted.

The Staten Island Advance did a review and article in their April 30, 2009 edition of the East Shore Section titled "Grasmere Woman Find the Healing Power of the Pen" quoting that "The author reveals a poignant portrayal of heart breaking moments no family should ever have to endure.  A highly readable and thought provoking recount of events which is leavened with humor and exploration of feelings."

Reviews for the book are quoted:
"I have read the book twice and cannot even imagine the pain that someone can endure.  She truly is an inspiration" by Mark Allen (Amazon.com)
"A heart warming story of love and commitment.  Will make you question basic meanings of life...must read for all" by NTM (Amazon.com)
"Great book and an easy read.  Interesting and very touching.  Moved me to tears and such a wonderful story." by Kara Schreiber (Amazon.com)

The author currently resides in Staten Island where she was born and raised and owns a Golden Retriever named "Bella Mia" who she plans to train and have certified as a therapy dog to be able to visit nursing homes and hospitals.

The book was written for her own therapy and healing but hopes it will help others to also deal with and come to terms with death and dying.

She wishes her readers to appreciate the book and hopefully gain the insight to live and enjoy every day to the fullest.
