COMMERCE TOWNSHIP, MI: The National Safety Council has estimated that each year on average an estimated 500 people will die due to ladder falls – this is roughly the same number of people that drown due to falling into swimming pools! Consumer Product Safety Commission reports that 90,000 people receive emergency room treatment each year in the US alone for ladder falls. One of the new products being offered to help homeowners’ and workers avoid the ladder is the Spray Close Spray Extender, a new product from Your Useful Products, LLC. It allows the attachment of any aerosol can to a pole so spraying wasp spray; cleaner, pruning sealer can be done by lifting an extension pole into place instead of climbing a ladder. The Spray Close Spray Extender was invented by Marina Walker in 2005 to help her husband reach a wasp nest that was rebuilt each year under the roof of the garage.
Walker notes that the main reason she felt the need is that wasp nests are higher then many sprays can reach and with this product you do not have to get the ladder out of storage. Another benefit is that the use of chemicals is reduced by 30% per application due to the proximity of the spray can to the nest itself – leaving less exposure to the environment.
Her product is carried by Northern Tool + Equipment, Do it Best Hardware, United Hardware, Pro-Hardware, and on-line at Amazon.com.
