Veteran Jeweler Retires and Tells All

PR Log (Press Release) – Jun 20, 2009 – Mike Stevens has been in the jewelry industry for over 30 years.  He began his jeweler's education while a college student in Michigan.  He used his jewelry courses as a creative outlet from his dry Business Management classes.  He eventually decided he loved the jewelry realm so much, he gave up his business curriculum to major in Fine Arts with a focus on Metal Arts. His Metal Arts courses focused a great deal on learning how to carve wax to make custom pieces, how to set gemstones and diamonds, and how to literally repair any jewelry.  

Mike learned to master the art of jewelry repair in his over 20 years as a jewelry entrepreneur.  He owned his own business for all of those years and branched out to service large retail jewelry chain stores in Mid-Michigan and Northern Ohio.  He is the first Certified Senior Bench Jeweler in the State of Michigan and later became a Master Jeweler.  

Eventually, Mike added gem stone cutting to his  resume and he became a Master Lapidarist (gem stone cutter).  With this new skill set he has been able to custom cut large gemstones which reveal beautiful cuts and light refraction.  Along the way of his career in lapidary and jewelry repair, Mike was persuaded to join a National Jewelry Chain as a Manager for their large repair department.  Mike had serviced this company for years and was eager to join their team full time.  He believed he had a lot to offer them, and he was right.

Not only was Mike right, but he was so highly regarded in his field that he was asked to train the retail sales people on how to service their customer's better, especially when it came right down to their jewelry repairs.

Consequently, Mike is now retired from the corporate world, and he sides with the consumer.  Everything he has taught the sales professionals are now tips and tricks he wants to share with you.  If you are a jewelry lover, a fanatic or a consumer who will eventually buy jewelry, Mike Stevens wants to teach you how to shop better, save better and how to buy better!  He will expose the sales tactics the sales professionals are trained to get you to buy.  It is Mike's mission to teach you where to get the best deals and how to get the best deals.
