Bellmore, NY —GRiPPiES, a start-up company founded by local moms Yelena Mogelefsky of Merrick and Corrie Wilder of Bellmore sponsored a portion of the South Merrick Community Civic Association’s “Celebrate!” event at Julian Lane Park on Tuesday, June 16.

Hundreds of residents joined the SMCCA, Town Supervisor Kate Murray and Representative Dave Denenberg as newly installed playground equipment was dedicated to the children of the community.

Yelena was present at Julian Lane park to show her support despite having just had lower back surgery. “A family member was driving me home [from South Nassau Community Hospital] and we passed by the [Julian Lane] park,” she notes. “It looked like such a beautiful event. I was drawn to the community energy and had to be a part of it!”

Corrie designed the flyers and other marketing collateral for the SMCCA event. “It was a pleasure to work with Jodi [Goldberg, event chairperson] and meet the amazing people that volunteer their time to better their community. My parents live around the corner from this playground, and my kids spend a lot of time enjoying it here. I’m happy to have the opportunity to give something back.”

The partners spent the afternoon distributing samples and coupons to the many families who came out to enjoy the event and show their community support.
