Three consecutive years of dry hydrologic conditions have cut deeply into California's available water supply. Knight Investments LLC Officials have met in an effort to analyze budget appropriations and discuss how private investment activities may be able to contribute to possible resolutions on these issues.
Water shortages this year are threatening severe consequences for farms, ranches, fishing communities, and the environment throughout the state. Governor Schwarzenegger's February 27 declaration of a drought emergency in California demonstrates the gravity of the situation.
Knight Investments LLC Regulatory Officials recently booked a trip to observe the situation in California and discuss the possibilities of private sector contributions. Knight Investments LLC Board of Advisor Dr. Thomas Johnson had this to say
"It's important that we all analyze the importance and gravity of all situations in the country. What affects on state inevitably will affect all other states as well. Federal Budget money will be re-channeled to problem areas and will affect states residents."
Chief Financial Officer Montelly Lopez Jr has the tough job of reviewing portfolio appropriations and ensuring the correct monetary amounts are dispersed to various humanitarian causes. Montelly Lopez Jr is expected to be traveling to the Ukraine area later this month to analyze similar situations as well.
Many California communities are reeling from the impacts of drought magnified by the national economic crisis, as a result of which farmers face tight credit markets and workers displaced from agriculture are unable to find alternative employment in other economic sectors.
The Administration acutely appreciates the social and economic hardships being visited on California by this drought. Conditions confronting California call for decisive, coordinated action by all levels of Government, including federal resource agencies.
Knight Investments LLC Officials affirmed with Regulatory Officials that all private sector companies that have the capacity to, must all work together to address the needs of municipal, industrial, and agricultural water users as well as the fragile ecosystems that depend upon water in order to function.
