June 19, 2009 - PRLog -- (Morrisville, N.C.) The NC Product Design and Prototyping Co-Op, a project of the RTP Product Development Guild, is kicking-off its summer lunch and learn series with an event hosted at Raleigh contract manufacturing firm Accu-Fab Wednesday, July 1, from 12-1:30 p.m.

Co-Op lunch and learns held in early 2009 attracted up to 35 attendees with specialties in software development, engineering, design and prototyping, marketing, and project management looking to network and benefit from continuing education provided by the host company and scheduled speakers.

“We’re pleased to host the July event to learn and support the Co-Op as well as let area local engineers know what we’re about and what we do for our clients,” Robert Karbas, Accu-Fab sales manager, said.

Accu-Fab provides precision metal fabrication, stamping, machining and contract manufacturing services utilizing top quality machinery housed in a world-class facility. Staffed by ten seasoned engineers with over 180 combined years of metal manufacturing engineering experience, Accu-Fab has been providing services for over 30 years including fabricated components and assemblies, laser cutting, robotic welding, deburring and surface finishing, machining and assembly integration, among others.

Montie Roland, president of the RTP Guild and advisor to the Co-Op, said steadily increasing attendance and growing queries about the Co-Op are signs that the group is on the right track toward achieving its goals.

“Through professionally managed outreach and Co-Op activities like our lunch and learns, members can interact with one another, share leads, resources, and technological innovations, and build essential working relationships while expanding their trust-based network,” he said.

According to Roland, peers view the Co-Op as a reliable professional network where they can find pre-qualified service providers with the resources necessary for the completion of client projects. Additionally, companies looking for quality local product design services can easily find providers within the Co-Op.
