Daniel Vennard talks sustainable business at AVEX

This is just one of the insights that Daniel Vennard, corporate affairs and sustainability director at Mars Drinks, was able to share with delegates attending his sustainability seminar at the AVEX trade show last week.

Daniel advised companies to take into account the areas in which their customers want to improve their own sustainability activities. By aligning programmes with those of their customers, company sustainability initiatives can be as effective as possible.

Energy saving and machine efficiency are just some of the areas focused on by Mars Drinks as part of its ‘Thirsty for Change’ (http://www.marsdrinks.com/mars-drinks/en/Homepage-uk) sustainability programme. Some of the other milestones achieved by the company in the last year alone include the launch of the N-viro cup and achieving Rainforest Alliance certification for three of its FLAVIA range of coffees as well as its FLAVIA English Breakfast tea. The company has also announced a new revitalisation and modernisation project to improve conditions for over 1,700 farms based at the Kandara Farmers Cooperative in Kenya.

It was great to gain an understanding of the variety of developments Mars Drinks has achieved in only the last year as part of its ongoing commitments to sustainable business. And it sounds like there will be even more sustainability news for Mars Drinks and its customers over the next year!
