Canadian Gift Basket Company Helps Brighten The Day Of Mental Health Patients

Vancouver gift basket business joins program run by mood disorders organization to help brighten local psychiatric wards.

June 18, 2009 - PRLog -- Pacific Basket Company is very proud to announce that is now part of Brightening the Day program created by MDA (Mood Disorders Association of British Columbia), with the purpose of brightening the day of patients who are in psychiatric wards within Greater Vancouver hospitals. Due to the fact that most people do not take flowers, a plant or anything when visiting a loved one at a psychiatric ward, MDA bring smiles to those patients through flowers, plants and now will be adding their gift baskets.

Every second week, thanks to very dedicated volunteers, MDA is able to deliver plants and gift baskets to the following hospitals: Burnaby General, BC Children’s Hospital, Lions Gate, Peace Arch, Richmond, Royal Columbian, Saint Paul’s, UBC, and Vancouver General.

Pacific Basket have joined MDA's program to help raise awareness of mood disorders and other mental illnesses. MDA is a wonderful non-profit organization dedicated to provide support, friendship and education to those living with a mood disorders (such as bipolar disorder, depression and anxiety) and their relatives and supporters.

This is only a small first step towards continuing to build mental health awareness; to reduce the stigma that surrounds mental illness and to support community programs to help those with a mental illnesses.
