Staff and friends of Cabot Lodge Jackson North will celebrate the culmination of a $6,000,000 eco-friendly renovation Tuesday with a grand opening, accompanied by the third session of the Summer Arts Series featuring pottery, glass, woodcarving and weaving by Mississippi artisans.
“We are really excited to officially celebrate the end of our renovations,”
The partners and staff of MMI Hotel Group gave much thought to the renovations of both Cabot Lodge Jackson North, as well as Cabot Lodge Millsaps to do their part to protect the environment and conserve the Earth’s natural resources. Commitments include low-flow toilets to conserve water, energy-efficient lighting, double-paned and tinted windows, and the use of post-consumer paper goods to conserve natural resources. In addition, they added amenities that entice the business and leisure traveler and provide comfort and convenience. For example, they worked with a local millwork shop to produce custom wood pieces, updated the over-sized furnishings in the great room to create a place where guests can relax while having drinks, and built the largest on-site hotel gym in the area, which overlooks the quaint courtyard.
The grand opening will take place from 4-6 p.m. in the hotel great room (located at 120 Dyess Road in Ridgeland, Miss.). Attendees will have the opportunity to tour the property, as well as see the crafts demonstrations, and hors d’oeuvres and cocktails will be provided. As part of the Summer Arts Series, artisans from the Craftsmen’s Guild of Mississippi will be on hand to demonstrate their talents in pottery, glass, woodcarving and weaving.
“We’re very proud of the strides we’ve made, and we encourage everyone to come to our grand opening and see what we have to offer,” Sturdivant said.
