Maria J. Andrade, author, poet and licensed Child Therapist, is happy and touched that her book for children,"Youngen Finds Her Song," a story about two birds who go on a healing journey, is being used in schools and hospitals across the US & Canada.
We, recently caught up with Ms. Andrade after her new eco/social science-fiction story, "The Return, A Time When Nature Seeks Justice" was published on Amazon.com .
Interviewer: "How do you explain the fascination and power of your story for children?"
Maria: "Two birds go on a healing adventure together and connect with the power and magic of love within and around them. It brings hope to children about their future and our planet - all of which I deeply believe in."
Interviewer: "The book is funny too! Laughter is proven to be a healing component for us all."
Maria:  "Yes. Times are hard but there is still a lot of good in our world and kids especially have not lost their funny bone. The characters in my book talk with each other about important things old age, materialism, the environment, war and peace but they can also see the humor in things and I love it!"
Interviewer: "I understand the book is being used in childrens' hospitals to help the healing process?"
Maria:  "That's right. I have met with a wonderful organization, Starlight Foundation,NY and they as well as others who work with ill children are giving it to their young patients."
Interviewer:  "The book is a delight and the CD brings the book to life with the character's voices, special effect and music. I think kids from 6 to 106 can get a lot out of it! Where can the book
be purchased?"
Maria:  "It is online in all major book stores or on my website: www.magicunion.com.There are special rates for educators."
Interviewer:  "Thank you, Maria. Are you Twittering about your book?"
Maria:  Sure. Just go to "Birdchat." Isn't it appropriate?"
