The recent launch of the Sanctuary Lodge by Wessex Homes has proven very successful with continuing high demand for the lodge. The Sanctuary was the latest addition to Wessex’s comprehensive range of quality mobile homes and residential park homes. This contemporary organic lodge utilizes a combination of natural cedar external cladding, aluminium faced full height windows, oak flooring and grooved internal wallboards to provide a modern and clean lined high specification lodge.
Mawgan Porth, situated in a beautiful part of Cornwall, have recently taken delivery of two Sanctuary lodges from Wessex. The designers at Wessex worked very closely with Mawgan Porth to understand their specific requirements and produce a Sanctuary lodge that more than meets their vision for 1st class accommodation at their park. The brief was to build an Eco lodge, using sustainable materials with a low carbon rating, including solar thermal systems and under-floor heating and improved insulation and ventilation, blending in with the beautiful landscaping and native planting around the park.
The vision of the owners for the park at Mawgan Porth is to introduce well conceived, eco-friendly and robust timber buildings as an alternative choice. In line with their ethos, the lodges are to represent the very best in low carbon living, designed to a high specification allowing the most comfortable and enjoyable holiday experience and the extensive landscaping and native planting at the park provides the perfect backdrop for these low-impact, sustainable lodges.
The park at Mawgan Porth offers a wide range of organic luxurious holiday accommodation and is located in a unique position, only a few hundred metres from the fine surfing beach of Mawgan Porth and yet is within a rural setting of mature parkland of 27 acres. The owners of the park believe very strongly in the importance of supporting the natural environment, ensuring sustainability and protecting the heritage of the area. Responsible tourism is a fundamental part of the business ethos at Mawgan Porth.
