Karura Adds New Models to Flight Case Family

Karura Case Co., manufacturers of The Musician’s Flight Case, is pleased to announce the addition of several new models to its line of best-selling classical guitar flight cases.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PR Log (Press Release)Jun 18, 2009 – Karura Case Co., manufacturers of The Musician’s Flight Case, is pleased to announce the addition of several new models to its line of best-selling classical guitar flight cases. In response to customer demand, Karura is introducing flight cases for banjos, violins, OM, dreadnought and archtop guitars that withstand all the hazards of travel. Designed in close consultation with leading luthiers, KARURA has fast become the case of choice among professional guitarists seeking ultra-strong, lightweight flight cases.

Said world-renown guitar virtuoso and composer Mir Ali: “I generally travel with two guitars and use Karura cases for both guitars. I have had to check in one or both of my guitars with regular baggage on several domestic and international flights. Having done this more than a dozen times and having the guitars arrive safely without damage, my level of confidence is completely in debt to Karura!”

“Serious musicians from around the globe depend on Karura flight cases to protect their classical guitars during travel,” said Karura Managing Director David Foreman. “It was the next logical step to offer the same protection to a wider variety of stringed instruments.”
Blending style and function, the new Karura violin case weighs in at 3.5 kg (7.7 lb) – a weight similar to a soft case but able to withstand compression loads of up to 950 kg (2,090 lb) - while the dreadnaught guitar case weighs just 5.2 kg  (11.4 lb) and withstands loads up to 1,000 kg (2,200 lb).

“We’ve combined the very latest carbon fiber technologies with the beauty of handcraftsmanship to create the KARURA family of cases. We take great pride in being able to protect both the instrument and the musician’s peace of mind, under any circumstance that may happen while on the road,” added Foreman.

All Karura cases feature a high-density rubber gasket, stainless steel hinges, and lockable catches that create an impenetrable seal between the two halves of the musician’s flight case. Inside, the instrument rests on ultra foam cushion beds, which insulate it from temperature extremes—while absorbing even the most violent shocks or drops. And the crushed-velvet interior is hand-stylized to fit whatever instrument it is designed for.

"I represent the finest classical and flamenco guitar builders in the world, and my clients demand the best protection for their significant investments in these treasures,” said Chris Kamen of Classic Guitars International, USA. “This is what led me to recommend Karura cases for my most discriminating clients. No other case I found offered the same level of protection vs. weight. They are the strongest lightweight guitar cases in the world in my opinion, and many of my clients would only trust their fine guitars in a Karura case.”

KARURA cases come in three standard colors: white, black, and the natural carbon fiber look. Karura will work with you to meet any level of customization you require.  Please visit www.karuracase.com for more information and to discover why professional musicians around the world rely on KARURA to protect their instruments from damage, heat, moisture, and dust—whether when flying to international concert halls or road-tripping it from city to city.
