June 18, 2009 - PRLog -- Doha: Dr. Naseer Shahir Homoud, Regional Director (Middle East) and Goodwill Ambassador for the Intergovernmental Institution for the use of Micro-algae Spirulina against Malnutrition (IIMSAM), the Permanent Observer to the United Nations Economic and Social Council, has shown his deep concerns on increasing number of swine flu cases across the world, appealing to the world leaders to take immediate collective steps to deal with the epidemic.

In a press statement issued to the media, Dr. Naseer Shahir Homoud said that the deadly outbreak of the Swine Flu virus now overshadows the other challenges being faced by the world.

He said in his statement that the World Health Organization, United Nations and other humanitarian entities should fully concentrate with all their ways and means to deal with this emergent crisis.

He urged all countries to take necessary precautions against the spread of the virus.
The long-awaited pandemic announcement by the World Health Organization is an apparent official confirmation that a new flu virus has been emerged globally and is quickly circling the globe.

Besides, Dr. Naseer Shahir Homoud has appealed all drug companies to speed up their efforts to come out with effective swine flu vaccines. He further said that Qatar has taken all the necessary required pre- caution to deal with the flu.

He also said that Microalgae Spirulina has a lot of organic materials that can be helpful to protect from the fatal Swine flu.

The Swine Flu virus which is known as the H1N1 is the same strain that causes seasonal flu outbreaks in humans but the newly detected version contains genetic material from versions of flu which usually affect pigs and birds.

With rapidly rising cases in Australia, Chile, the United Kingdom and Asia, swine flu has now spread to several regions around the globe.

It is the first time a flu pandemic has been declared in 40 years. The WHO has said that the move to a pandemic does not mean the virus is causing more severe illness or more deaths, and authorities have urged people not to panic.

He further said that Spirulina is one of the beautiful gifts from the nature since the existence of life on earth. Highlighting the features of the Micro Algae Spirulina, he further said that these blue - green algae which has many other non- pharmaceutical means, has proved to be a very promising alternative option in the treatment of multiple health disorders as it strengthens the complete immune system.
