Ideaca launches “Building IT Together” program to raise funds in support of Habitat for Humanity

Vancouver, BC – June 18, 2009: Ideaca Knowledge Services (www.ideaca.com), a leading Information Technology services company that provides business application solutions to the Canadian market, announced today an official partnership with Habitat for Humanity Canada.  As such, Ideaca will combine efforts in their offices across Canada to raise funds in the name of Habitat for home-building projects in their respective communities.  

As one of the first initiatives, Ideaca has launched “Building IT Together”, a program to raise funds for a 27-unit townhouse complex that is currently being constructed by Habitat for Humanity Greater Vancouver.  As part of this program, Ideaca will “auction” consulting services and sessions to BC customers with all proceeds going towards Habitat for Humanity Greater Vancouver.  Ideaca will raise funds nationally across their four offices in Toronto, Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver with each office participating in a corporate team build day in each city.  A build day is an opportunity for Ideaca employees to spend a day working alongside Habitat volunteers and partner families, building houses that will ultimately be owned by partner families. Habitat homeowners, purchase their homes and contribute hundreds of hours of “sweat equity” - actually participating in the construction of their own home, or the homes of others. Through volunteer labour, and donations of funds and product, Habitat is able to provide affordable homeownership opportunities to low income families – enabling them to become proud homeowners.

Ideaca is partnering with Habitat for Humanity Canada because Ideaca shares Habitat’s passion for helping people and families within the local community.  By participating in build days, 100% of money raised goes to purchasing tools and professional services for the very house that Ideaca employees will help build.
