Few things are more quintessentially British than watching Wimbledon with afternoon tea and strawberries, however, when in pursuit of the perfect British summer day, in my opinion, one things is missing...Music.
UK independent record label Sanfresco records, set out to match the perfect soundtrack to a Wimbledon summer day. With British hopeful Andy Murray looking set to be Britain's biggest hope yet, there could be a lot of sitting, watching and chilling over the next few weeks.
Having debated at length what would be the perfect match to Wimbledon 2009, the following two albums were selected "Instrumental Piano Music" by Solo Piano, Relaxing Music & "Beach Music, Cafe Music & Bar Music Collection" by ACO Ambient Chill Out. We asked Sanfresco Records to justify their claims.
"We have chosen two albums, firstly Instrumental Piano Music, by Solo Piano, Relaxing Music - which is the epitome of a gentle English summer afternoon, eight original compositions of piano and strings music. It is light & elegant and will undoubtedly relax the busiest of minds, whilst sipping tea and keeping an eye on the Wimbledon scores. By virtue of the fact that the compositions are original, you are unlikely to get too distracted, however they are not so ambiguous that it becomes music wallpaper - we're not massive fans of the whale or pan pipe music you get in herbal stores!"

Andy Murray is our best hope for some time to be a British mens single winner - this has inevitably caught the interest of the media and the younger less frequent tennis fan. For that reason we have selected ACO Ambient Chill Out "Beach Music, Cafe Music and Bar Music Collection". This is an original collection of chill out tunes, typical of Cafe del Mar or Hed Kandi. Light dance beats, cool grooves and mellow harmony. It will bring some style and chic to your afternoon of tennis and rose - but won't distract too much from the tranquility of a British summers day.
