Many radio stations that programmed jazz music have switched to news-talk or other formats leaving a void for jazz fans. But jazz music is alive and well online filling the void with no territorial broadcasting boundary. Internet stations such as WGMC Jazz90.1 in Greece, New York draws jazz listeners from afar as Athens, Greece.
Online DJs and music directors are introducing jazz music to a younger generation on social media sites Twitter, Facebook and Myspace. Those new fans are buying jazz by the likes of Miles Davis, Charles Mingus and Dave Brubeck that were originally
released back in the 50s and 60s.
