During the month of July, 2009, online retailer of animal themed gifts and accessories, PJ Publications and Gifts, will donate 20 percent from their sales to the Born Free USA united with Animal Protection Institute. This month long promotion is keeping in line with the partnership the two organizations formed over a year ago to support animals.
Paula Fitzsimmons, owner of the online store, http://www.pjpublicationsandgifts.com says that caring about animals is an important part of her company's goals. "I've always had a soft spot for animals and supporting Born Free/API is a way our company can make a difference."
Animal Protection Institute and Born Free USA, once separate organizations, merged in recent years to form a single non-profit charity called Born Free USA united with Animal Protection Institute. Born Free USA is the non-profit arm of the Born Free Foundation, founded by Virginia McKenna and Bill Travers, stars of Born Free, the fact-based movie about a lioness called Elsa.
Aside from taking on a variety of animal welfare campaigns, including the international wildlife trade and exotic animals kept in captive situations, the nonprofit operates the Born Free USA Primate Sanctuary, which houses over 500 non-human primates, many of whom were rescued from abusive situations. The charity's website is http://www.bornfreeusa.org
The charity event will take place July 1 through July 31,2009.
