Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation Ltd. is planning to come up with Air-conditioned bus service for Kanha & Bandhavgarh National Parks. The buses will be available from Jabalpur City.
Considering the volume current season tourist arrivals and expecting the increase in domestic tourism in wildlife sector of Madhya Pradesh, MPSTDC have decided to launch AC-Bus services for convenience of tourists. Bus service will begin from October-2009, on opening of National Parks for the season Oct-2009 to June-2010. In beginning buses will be available 3-days in a week and depending upon the response, its frequency will be increased / decreased. Booking of seats in buses will be done from MPSTDC offices. At the same time considering the Jabalpur as a gateway city for Kanha & Bandhavgarh National Park, State Tourism Department have decided to open full-fledged MP-Tourism regional office in Jabalpur City so as to cater incoming tourists in expected way and also do tourism promotional activities more actively.
It is a welcome decision from Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Department. Such steps will promote tourism activities in Madhya Pradesh and will be a milestone in way of becoming major tourist state of India just like Kerala & Rajasthan. We all should appreciate such positive steps. It is a concious approach of M.P. Tourism Department towards improvement in infrastructural facilities for Tourism Sector of State.
