provides its 3Com compatible 1000Base-T SFP transceiver modules (3CSFP93) for copper networks, which are hot-pluggable I/O devices that plug into module sockets. The SFP transceivers connect the electrical circuitry of the module with optical or copper network and are fully compatible with original 3Com transceivers. The maximum cable length for 1000Base-T SFP module copper connections is 100 meters (328ft).
These transceivers enjoy great flexibility: if the host device supports protocol transparency, then one can build a tremendous variety of applications with a very small number of host system types. They can also be easily removed from the host device. The transceivers can also be used in conjunction with any GBIC module supported by 3Com device. Connections with patch cords with PC or UPC connectors are supported.
