Escobedo Skin Centeris Pleased to Announce the Arrival of ThermaFrax

ThermaFrax combines Fraxel Therapy with Thermage NXT. The cutting edge procedure is exclusively provided by Dr. Michael Escobedo of Escobedo Skin Center in Austin, TX.

June 15, 2009 - PRLog -- The Escobedo Skin Center implements the latest cosmetic strategy by combing the all New Thermage NXT with the Fraxel laser (repair or restore) for synergistic results.

The all new FDA-approved Thermage NXT uses mono-polar capacitive coupling to volumetrically heat skin and induce collagen remodeling in three dimensions for improved skin laxity.  The Fraxel laser (repair or restore) is one of the most advanced laser systems available to patients who wish to repair sun-damaged skin, eradicate the effects of aging, soften severe acne scarring, eliminate brown spots, and improve skin texture.

“I am excited to offer ThermaFrax to our patients,” said Dr. Michael Escobedo, of Escobedo Skin Center. “I was the first physician in Central Texas to offer Thermage when it was FDA-approved years ago.  The results were nothing short of amazing.  I am extremely pleased to offer the all new Thermage NXT which is faster and more effective than its predecessor.  When we began using the Fraxel lasers (repair and restore), we noted that patients who received a Thermage prior, experienced a greater response than with either Thermage or Fraxel alone.  As a result, we began advocating the combination of Thermage and Fraxel to achieve greater skin tightening and textural improvements.”

The Fraxel laser (restore) employs an erbium beam used to improve the appearance of  wrinkles around the eyes, brown spots; acne scars; surgical scars, age spots, sun spots, melasma, and actinic keratosis.  The Fraxel laser (repair) employs a carbon dioxide beam to tighten severe skin laxity; redness; wrinkles around the mouth; wrinkles around the eyes; deep sun and age spots.  The Fraxel restore requires one treatment a month for a total of four treatments; whereas, the Fraxel repair requires a single treatment.  Both Fraxel lasers use a fractionated technology known as micro-thermal zones to treat a portion of the skin.  The benefits are reduced downtime when compared to other skin resurfacing lasers on the market.

“ThermaFrax combines the best of both worlds—Thermage for volumetric tissue tightening and Fraxel for improvement in skin texture.  Using these two cutting edge devices is like 1 plus 1 equals 3,” said Dr. Michael Escobedo of the Escobedo Skin Center in Austin, Texas.
