Angela Shelton is an acclaimed speaker, author, actress, and filmmaker. Angela is a valuable keynote speaker who has helped raise millions for non-profits focused on ending the cycle of violence and abuse.
Angela has appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show, Larry King Live, 48 Hours Investigates, NPR and Lifetime Television for Women. Angela has also graced the front page of the New York Times!
Angela first brought her life to the screen with the award-winning movie, Tumbleweeds which was based on her first novel. The film won the Filmmaker’s Trophy at the 2000 Sundance Film Festival and brought the lead actress, Janet McTeer, an Academy Award nomination and a Golden Globe win.
For her directing debut, Angela traveled the United States interviewing other Angela Sheltons for her multi-award winning documentary Searching for Angela Shelton. The film is now mandatory viewing in many sex offender treatment programs, volunteer training programs, and classrooms around the world. The United States Justice Department presented Angela a certificate of appreciation for her hard work on behalf of crime victims.
