PR Log (Press Release)Jun 15, 2009 – Excelerate Technology, the leading supplier of satellite and wireless-based data, voice and video solutions, has announced the appointment of Darren Field as Field Installation and Support Manager.  Based at the company’s headquarters in St Mellons, Cardiff, he will be responsible for managing the delivery and support of a wide range of fixed and mobile communications solutions for customers in diverse market sectors including the emergency services, local government, education and utilities.  

Darren Field has extensive experience of the communications market and spent eleven years as a telecommunications engineer for the Royal Corps of Signals before joining Marconi where, over a period of three years, he held a number of technical positions.  Darren then became mobile communications manager at Thames Valley Police where he was responsible for the Airwave project delivery, implementation and technical management as well as pioneering the use of Excelerate’s satellite-based broadband solution throughout the force.  He joins Excelerate Technology after completing a contract with Airwave where, as Technical Project Manager, he was responsible for the delivery and upgrade of Fire Mobilisation systems for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Services.
