An interactive styling tool launched by Specsavers promises to make it easier, quicker and more fun for bespectacled Kiwis to choose glasses online from the thousands of styles.
The Specsavers online-try technology allows users to experiment with frame styles, shapes and colours in their own time and location by simply uploading a photo. Users can try on as many glasses as they wish, adjust them to fit, change the colour or see your new look close up.
Specsavers style ambassador Gok Wan shared a key tip for choosing glasses during a recent visit to New Zealand.
“When you’re trying on glasses in a store, you should take a photo of yourself on your phone and look at the picture rather than looking in the mirror. This makes it easier for you to see if the glasses suit you because it gives you a more objective look at yourself.”
Gok said the Specsavers frame-on-face system would make it even easier for people to use his tip at home or in the office if they have a few minutes to spare – although he warns, “It can get addictive with so many gorgeous frames to try on!”
Graeme Edmond, Specsavers NZ Managing Director, says that the days of time-consuming, mind-boggling experience of choosing glasses are over.
“Many people find themselves a bit overwhelmed when standing in an optical retail store. Our technology let’s you see how you look in different pairs of glasses in just a few easy steps with our digital mirror. You can now try all our glasses from the $129 range right through to our designer styles before you buy.”
As well as Specsavers own range of high quality fashion frames, which start at just $79, you can virtually try on a range of great designer label specs such as Missoni, FCUK, Ben Sherman, Tommy Hilfiger, Roxy, Quicksilver and Jasper Conran. Designer brands are priced from $249 for two pairs and the cost of all glasses at Specsavers always includes single vision Pentax lenses with a special scratch resistant coating, as standard.
