The current American Recovery Act is driving various infrastructure projects creating jobs that include installation of data, voice, video and broadband networks in rural areas. These stimulus funded projects will also include installation of new Healthcare Networks, Green Energy Technology with updated optical networks to lessen the carbon footprint in America and physical construction sites lying fiber optics along roadways and in buildings to be in compliance with future ITS technology.
Accredited by the Fiber Optic Association (FOA), APSI’s Broadband Fiber Optic Program focuses’ on industry best practices and emphasizes a hands-on approach to vocational training. Our courses are geared toward real world applications that are practical for today’s industry. The first phase of our program covers a wide variety of premise cabling the way it is being used today! This means that students in Phase I of our program will learn cable installation, safety codes, identification of various networks, Wi-Fi and Wireless. Phase II will focus more on the fiber optics and optical networks. Students will then go more in dept with test and termination, splicing, measurement, CATV/SATV, connectors, OTDR and troubleshooting. Graduating students will be certified in Cabling and Fiber Optics by the Fiber Optic Association and receive Continued Education Credits (CEC’s) from BICSI that can be applied toward your RCDD certification.
Upon graduation our students will be able to demonstrate a high level of competency in infrastructure installation and maintenance. Because our program is technology neutral, each student will have the ability to meet a diverse occupation market making our program one of a kind. “It is my sincere hope that our students, who will be certified technicians in fiber optic and broadband, a growth industry even in these hard times, will find themselves embarking on not just a job, but a lifelong career” said retired NFL Player and Community Ambassador Mike Minter.
The Fiber Optic Association has certified over 30,000 fiber optic professionals and organizations around the world recognize its credentials.
