Black is the first album of Maxwell's BLACKsummersnight trilogy. It is his first album since 2001's Now. Maxwell described the album's first single,"Pretty Wings" to MTV as being "a bittersweet love song about meeting the right girl at the wrong time." Maxwell Rivera (born in Brooklyn, New York on May 23, 1973) is an American R&B artist who professionally goes by the name Maxwell. He played an important role in the development of the subgenre of neo-soul music. Maxwell's next project is his fourth album BLACKsummers' Night. On his myspace Maxwell states that it is a trilogy of albums released over three years, starting in 2009 with Black. A statement on his Twitter page eludes that Black will be released on July 7, 2009. The second album, Summers' coming out in 2010 and the third album Night 2011.
