…Only at San Pedro’s Warner Grand Theatre.
Many producers are currently bringing new and exciting entertainment to the venue that honors its history as a celluloid palace, and puts it on the map as a performing arts venue.
The Golden State Pops Orchestra, The Relevant Stage Theatre Company, Midnight Insanity, Cinema Grand, Noah K. Productions, the L.A. Harbor International Film Festival and San Pedro City Ballet, are some of the regular producers in the venue who bring film, dance, music and other live performances to the public.
At a time when everyone is struggling to save their money, Downtown San Pedro offers maximum entertainment for minimum price. Events at Warner Grand Theatre range from free to rarely over $40.
A new film series called Warner on Wednesdays is endeavoring to make entertainment even more affordable and still give families a way to “go out” and enjoy life even in economic hardship. Movies that are part of “W.O.W.” are only $3! Couples can save even more by asking for a “Date Night” package at the door prior to the 6PM and 9PM shows. “Date Night” gives you two tickets, two popcorns, and two sodas for only $10!
Want a FREE ticket to see Twilight or The Curious Case of Benjamin Button? Visit Sacred Grounds Coffee House at 468 W 6th St in San Pedro (90731) for a limited supply of free tickets!
“Fright Night” on select Fridays is only $13 for two films, interactive entertainment, live bands and burlesque.
Midnight Insanity, now in its 21st year, produces The Rocky Horror Picture Show every Saturday at midnight. $9 gets you in for the film, interactive entertainment and audience participation. You can do the “Time Warp” again and again at Warner Grand Theatre.
The Relevant Stage Theatre Company, now in its 2nd year, produces live musicals and multimedia events. TRS’s tickets are quite inexpensive:
In August, TRS brings to the stage for three weekends, Jason Robert Brown’s The Last Five Years - A fresh and contemporary musical from Tony-Award winning composer Brown, The story explores a five-year relationship between Jamie Wellerstein, a rising novelist, and Cathy Hiatt, a struggling actress. But this love story is more bitter than sweet. There are two sides to every story...their 5-year relationship is coming to an end, and through the funny, sweet, and heart-breaking songs, you hear both versions of what happened - from beginning to end, and from the end to the beginning. It is an emotionally powerful and intimate musical that is compulsively enjoyable with unpredictably heartfelt insights, and a seductive, rhythmic drive. It is poignant and ironic - a real modern falling-in-and-
In November TRS combines standup comedy with classic comedy films in a series of 9 performances over three weekends called San Pedro BrewHaHa.
TRS ends the year with its annual, original musical production of The Christmas Carol, this time – performed just days before and after Christmas.
