Local N.J. Animation Studio Designs Virtual World That Lets Kids Help Endangered Animals!

LLP (http://www.twoanimators.com) has been hard at work designing “SifakaWorld.com.” The site, which is a wildlife-themed virtual world, is having a direct and significant impact on wildlife preservation by giving a portion of every membership fee to various animal protection funds including the Cheetah Conservation Fund. Joe Costantini, the Animation Director at 2A! says, “It’s really great to get to work on a fun and unique project like Sifaka World, and when the project is actually trying to make a difference for a good cause, that’s just icing on the cake!”

Over 100,000 people signed onto SifakaWorld.com since its initial launch in December 2008. Visitors include animal enthusiasts, virtual world users, and anyone who enjoys online games and meeting new people. Joining Sifaka World is free, however the real fun starts when you purchase a membership that includes a donation to wildlife preservation. Memberships range from $4.99 to $6.99/month, with the $4.99 plan donating 10% to wildlife preservation and the $6.99/month plan donating 30%.

Initially, all Sifaka World member donations are going to the Cheetah Conservation Fund (CCF) (http://www.cheetah.org). CCF, a 501(c)3, is a primary center of excellence in research and education on cheetahs and their eco-systems. Sifaka World has included stories from CCF, on their blog, that bring to life the wildlife preservation work being done by CCF thanks in part to Sifaka member donations. From these stories, kids as young as six are learning that when they contribute, positive change does happen!
