Dr. Laura is Back by Popular Demand to Newstalk 1160 "The Talk of the Town"!

PRLog (Press Release) – Jun 12, 2009 – Atlantans cried out when we changed our daytime lineup back in April, and we listened!

When Newstalk 1160…“The Talk of the Town” moved talk radio icon “Dr. Laura” Schlessinger to the evenings, the outpouring of letters, phone calls, and emails from angry listeners was so overwhelming that the station made the decision to move “Dr. Laura” back to her original timeslot.  Starting this Monday, June 15, Atlantans will be able to hear “Dr. Laura” weekdays from 1pm-3pm, as well as Saturdays from 5pm-7pm on her exclusive Atlanta home, Newstalk 1160…“The Talk of the Town”.

When asked about the change in lineup, Jeff Davis, Vice President/General Manager of Newstalk 1160, said: “We knew [she] had listeners, but when we got flooded with hundreds of irate phone calls and emails, we realized we made a mistake.  Not since Coca-Cola came out with the New Coke, has there been such an outcry from the public.  I can’t even go out anymore.  Soccer Moms all over Atlanta are out to get me.  Hopefully, this will change all that.  I’m almost out of food.”

New York has them.  Los Angeles has them.  And now Newstalk 1160 has brought the nation’s top talk show hosts to Atlanta Radio.

A trailblazer in the nascent trend of radio talk therapy, she was drawing record-breaking Southern California audiences to her late night show with her humor and remarkable insight.
