About WSM
World Sports Model™ 2009 (WSM’09) by W Athletic, is to be the largest online modeling competition in the world aimed at all sports and fitness enthusiasts, professional and amateur models, dancers, acrobats, free-runners, gymnasts and martial artists, to name a few.For Guys think chiseled, sculpted physiques. Fitness Magazine Covers, Razors, Designer Underwear…

For Girls, think curvy yet toned bodies – Lifestyle Magazine covers, Sports & Swimwear, Fitness Equipment…We are looking for Males and Females who can either demonstrate the qualities outlined above, or has the physical skills to wow our judges. It doesn't matter what your background is, what keeps you fit or where you are from – WSM’09 is a celebration of healthy, athletic talent. Please note that this is not a bodybuilding competition and all sizes and skills will be accepted - from Racing Car Driver to Swimwear Model, Football Freestyler to Gym enthusiast. It doesn't matter if you haven't got any extraordinary skills (although it would be great if you have) as long as you can demonstrate a healthy, toned physique - the product of plenty of exercise and consuming a balanced, nutritious diet.

How To Enter
WSM’09 is open to anyone over the age of 18 no matter where you are in the world. (For Under 18's please look out for WSM Junior launching soon.) To enter you will need to complete our online registration form entering your Name, Height, Weight, Location, Nationality, Occupation plus some information about yourself to support you application. Please see the online application for details of entry fees.The form can be located by clicking the Application tab on the World Sports Model section of www.wathletic.com. However, no applications will be accepted before the Competition's official Opening Date (1st August 2009).

Each entrant can upload a maximum of 3 images and 1 video (optional) which must be uploaded to YouTube™ first. No full nudity will be allowed – see Rules for other image restrictions that may void your application.

Due to demand and to maintain the integrity of the competition, all applications will be vetted by the Judging Panel before they are passed for uploading to the competition website. To give yourself the best chance to pass this phase please ensure that you have uploaded 3 medium/ high resolution images, a valid YouTube™ video web code where necessary, respected the rules of the Competition and have entered all the information as requested.

Voting is quite straightforward and will be subject to 2 stages – Vetting & The Competition.

Vetting
All applications will be subject to an initial vetting procedure carried out by the Judging Panel (see below for details). All successful applicants will then be entered into the World Sports Model™ Competition and have their profile added to the WorldSportsModel.com website. New applications will be allowed until the end of the Competition closing date.

The Competition
Each of the applicants that have passed the initial vetting process will have a profile posted on the WorldSportsModel.com site until the Competition closing date, 3 calendar months after the Competition opens. After this closing date, the Judging Panel shall then be responsible for grading each applicant taking into consideration the following 3 criteria:
- As a credible sports model – do they look sporty/ are they sporty?
- For commercial appeal – could you envisage them on the billboard/ magazine cover for a major lifestyle brand?
- For their physique – do they look as though they have dedicated themselves to keeping fit and following a healthy, balanced diet?

This deliberation and grading process will last upto 7 days following the Competition closing date. Thereafter, 1 Male and 1 Female Winner will be crowned World Sports Model™ 2009. The Results will then be published on the WorldSportsModel.com website within 7 days of the Judges final decision.

Get Involved - 'FANS'
At any time during the Competition each public viewer (not the Judging Panel) can register their approval for any competitor by adding themselves as a Fan. However, each public viewer may only become a Fan of a particular competitor once, however, they may become Fans of as many different competitors as they wish. Please note that the number of Fans an entrant has does not guarantee higher grading but is a way of showing support for a particular model.

Judging Panel
The Judging Panel will consist of a mixture of industry professionals with a vast experience in this sector. More details to be released soon. The competition will at all times be transparent and overseen by an independent auditing committee who will be given access to all competition information and voting to ensure fairness.

Winners
One Winner from each gender will be crowned World Sports Model™ 2009 and receive the prestigious WSM Trophy, plus a prize from our sponsor. More details to be released soon. The Top 10 Males and Females as decided by the Judging Panel will also be featured on the Results page.

World Sports Model™ is a showcase for many opportunities within sports, fitness and lifestyle modeling. To that extent Winners and other Shortlisted applicants may also receive further prizes as provided by our affiliates and partners including modelling assignments.


The WSM’09 Competition is open to anyone to enter, both male and female and applications are accepted outside of the UK providing they comply with the minimum entry requirements and rules which will be located on the web domain www.worldsportsmodel.com which is an integral channel of the W Athletic website www.wathletic.com.
