Mandaza (Augustine) Kandemwa, a Svikiro (traditional healer) and Mhondoro (in constant prayer for others), in the Shona and Ndebele traditions of Zimbabwe, carries with great heart the Central African tradition of healing and peacemaking. Mandaza's visit provides an extraordinary opportunity to experience and receive his gifts of wisdom, love, healing and peacemaking all taking place here at the Northern Edge Algonquin, July 10th-12th, 2009. His outstanding gifts are being sought out and called upon in this critical time period as Mother Earth heals and re-balances. In our world of war, poverty, starvation and intensive environmental change it is time to learn the ways of the heart and peacemaking, to cultivate a culture of peace and love, and to be the change that the world wants to see.
This is an opportunity to take care of your spirit and build your strength and engage in the renewal you need to “stand in your medicine”. Take the time to benefit from the many teachings, beauty of the north and the nourishing food for your body, heart and soul. Teachings, individual sessions and water and fire ceremonies will address questions such as “What gifts and medicine are you called to share in the world”?
All of Northern Edge Algonquin’s programs include accommodations in locally, handcrafted stone and wood cabins that offer a warm and relaxed atmosphere, as well as mouth-watering meals created with wholesome organic and local ingredients. Northern Edge Algonquin specializes in vegetarian, vegan and other unique dietary choices and needs. Travel to the Edge of Algonquin park easily by car, bus, train or plane. Cost is $350 (program fee), and $100-175 night (meals/accoms.)
