The Professional Beauty Association (PBA) is a non-profit association dedicated to providing business tools, education, government advocacy, and networking which benefits its members as well as the beauty industry as a whole. The PBA produces trade shows and among them is the symposium held this year in cooperation with Cosmoprof North America (CPNA), an influential business-to-
The PBA Symposium is part of the PBA Beauty Week which includes the North American Hairstyling Awards (NAHA), a prestigious beauty competition. With over 600 salon and spa owners and managers already onsite for NAHA and more than 25,000 attendees from around the world at CPNA, this business-to-
Designed also as an educational event for the beauty industry, the PBA Symposium is a perfect opportunity for attendees to benefit from YBN’s expertise as the leader in business education and support services for beauty professionals. The tools available through YBN include an online client database, e-marketing promotions, management tools and a career hub.
“The beauty industry is a sleeping giant full of truly talented individuals,”
The cornerstone of this year’s PBA Symposium will be the results of the first independent industry research report on the salon retail environment and consumer trends. The study, Business of Beauty: Maximize Your Profitability, is conducted on a national level and is intended for all segments of the industry. Some of the initial findings of the PBA study show that “stylists really do like to recommend and sell products, but they desire more training on how to do it properly”, also that “44 percent of respondents generally will purchase a product recommended by their stylist, but 71 percent of respondents were not offered a product on their last visit.”
Your beauty Network (YBN) can play an important part in resolving those concerns since, as Bert Carder, CEO of YBN would explain, “In our industry, salon owners and operators are primarily stylists, not necessarily savvy business people. Providing our clients with easy-to-use, cost-effective online tools like client relationship management, e-marketing, online appointment booking and business builder archives, we can help their businesses grow at unprecedented rates.”
