MSSI- Modular Security Systems, Inc. announces MAC Perimeter Security Portals at Nuclear Plant Sites

June 10, 2009 - PRLog -- Modular Security Systems, Inc. (MSSI) has recently been barraged with calls and internet traffic from consumers in the nuclear security industry regarding its latest product, a prefabricated building guardhouse with turnstiles incorporated into the design to allow nuclear plants to become immediately in compliance with Nuclear Regulation 10 CFR 73.55. The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has recently imposed new regulations on nuclear facilities that it regulates.  

One of these new regulations is nuclear regulation 10 CFR 73.55 which, among other things, addresses isolation zones and security perimeters around nuclear facilities in the US. MSSI began heavily marketing its MAC security portal to the nuclear industry shortly after these new regulations regarding isolation zones and perimeter security check points were in place. These new regulations require nuclear plants to construct pre screening check points for access control for those wishing to enter the nuclear facility.  Prior to one being allowed to pass thru the plants primary check point that person must first be prescreened at one of these initial check points that will be placed around the perimeter of the new  isolation zones that the plants will be required to maintain. The modularity of the MAC Security Portal will allow these nuclear plants to rapidly come into compliance with this new NRC regulation 10 CFR 73.55.

Over the past 50 plus years the prefabricated building industry has been building guard booths and guardhouses as security units at plant and construction sites across the United States. The prefabricated building for guard booths and guard houses is no new product and is fairly ubiquitous throughout construction and plant sites across the US and world. Though the guardhouse is no new invention the prefabricated building guard house including access control turnstiles is a new invention and is becoming a staple on construction sites throughout the world. The U. S. Patent and Trade Mark Office is recognizing this prefabricated guard house with turnstiles as a new invention by awarding MSSI a recent Notice of Allowance for a patent for this unique invention of a prefabricated building  to serve as a guard booth.
