Dristi Nepal serves the female drug user population in Nepal through counselling, awareness programs, rehabilitation, and re-integration. Dristi Nepal operates a treatment center in Kathmandu as well as outreach programs and awareness campaigns. It assists : Female sex workers, women living with HIV/AIDS, female drug users. Placement Work Details Dristi Nepal is currently the only organization of it's kind that serves women.
Volunteers can help by: Educating staff. Educating clients. Implementing outreach programs. Assisting with administrative work. Providing counselling to both recovering addicts and their families. Assisting with awareness programs, fundraising. Facilitating re-integration of female ex-drug users into society. Rehabilitation. HIV/AIDS Awareness training. Other tasks that you may be requested to preform outside of your core duties: Translation of material into English. Website creation. Sharing computer knowledge with staff and clients. Teaching English.
Volunteer should have the following background: Experience working with high-risk populations, addicts. A background in psychology, social work, addiction counselling, crisis counselling, outreach work. Volunteers should be mature, strong, able to delegate, prepared to witness difficult situations.
